Conversation with Sandra Kegel (Germany), journalist and head of the feuilleton section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

The guest of the word programme at the International Thomas Mann Festival is literary critic Sandra Kegel, editor-in-chief of the culture section of the newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, 16 July 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Thomas Mann Memorial Museum.
The conversation will focus on Thomas Mann’s journalism, the mission and transformations of cultural media, as well as impressions from Sandra Kegel’s residency at the Thomas Mann House in Los Angeles.
The discussion will be moderated by Anna Maria Strauß, Director of the Goethe-Institut Lithuania. She studied theatre studies, art history and Japanese studies in Munich. Having worked for the Goethe-Institut for many years, before arriving in Vilnius she headed the Goethe-Institut’s cultural department responsible for Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
