The Culture Centre which has been situated in the same building since 1995. The Centre was established not only with the purpose to promote a cultural dialogue and discussions on acute culture problems in Lithuania but also to spread humanistic ideas both in Lithuania and the entire Baltic region. Diverse activity of the Centre is a vivid sign of European thinking as care of Thomas Mann’s creative heritage in Lithuania signifies acknowledgement of common values and responsibility for the cultural heritage of Europe.
The Thomas Mann Cultural Center’s activity unfolds in a broad spectrum. It accumulates information about Thomas Mann and his family members’ relations with Nida, develops educational activity in cooperation with the memorial museum and other cultural and educational organizations, implements scientific and cultural programs, organizes multiform scientific and creative meetings (seminars, conferences, symposiums, round tables, festivals, plenary meetings) and supports development of cultural tourism in Neringa.
Today the former summerhouse of Thomas Mann in Nida has become a centre of cultural cooperation cherishing good neighborly relations and human ideas and symbolizing openness to the world.
